Export Readiness & Licensing
About This Service
Before you ship anything, you need to know what you're allowed to ship, where, and under what registrations — and most first-time exporters find that out the hard way, mid-shipment. We fix that up front: an honest assessment of whether your product and market are actually export-ready, a market strategy that gets revisited as conditions change rather than filed away, and every core registration — IEC, AD Code, ICEGATE, GST LUT, RCMC — handled and explained, not just filed on your behalf.
Every Get Ready engagement includes TradeEximOS platform access — your trade job dashboard, document repository, compliance status and task visibility, from day one.

How This Breaks Down
Export Advisory & Strategy
Ongoing strategic guidance, not a one-off report — reassessed as markets, tariffs and regulations shift, with licensing requirements explained in plain terms and advice on export-readiness, product selection and trade-fair participation.
Example
A spice exporter unsure whether to target the EU or the Gulf first gets a comparison of demand, tariff exposure and certification hurdles in each market — with a clear recommendation and a compliance checklist before they commit to either.
Licensing & Registrations
The core registrations every exporter or importer legally needs, filed and explained rather than just processed.
Example
A manufacturer about to ship their first export order gets every foundational registration completed together, in the right order, instead of discovering mid-shipment that one is missing.
IEC (Import Export Code)
The base registration required to import or export at all.
e.g. A first-time exporter can't clear a single shipment without one — we file it before their first order ships.
AD Code / IFSC Registration
Registers your bank authorisation at the port so customs will release payment against a shipment.
e.g. Without it registered at the port of shipment, customs won't release export proceeds — we get it in place before the first shipment moves.
ICEGATE Registration
Gives you access to file shipping bills and track customs status online.
e.g. A client's ops team wanted to check shipment status themselves instead of calling their CHA every time — ICEGATE access made that self-service.
GST LUT (Letter of Undertaking)
Lets you export without paying IGST upfront and claiming it back later.
e.g. An exporter who hadn't filed an LUT had working capital stuck in tax refunds for months — filing it before the first invoice keeps that cash free from day one.
RCMC (Registration-cum-Membership Certificate)
Registers you with the relevant Export Promotion Council — required to claim most export incentives.
e.g. A client trying to claim RoDTEP was told they needed an RCMC first — we handled the EPC admission and annual registration so the incentive claim could actually go through.
Bundle: IEC + AD Code + ICEGATE + GST LUT
The four foundational registrations, handled together as one engagement.
e.g. A new exporter getting all four done in one coordinated pass before their first shipment, instead of chasing four separate filings on four separate timelines.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need all of these registrations before I can export?
It depends on what and where you're shipping — that's exactly what the readiness assessment establishes, rather than filing everything by default.
What happens once I'm ready to actually ship?
This engagement covers strategy and registration. Once you have an order to fulfil, Managed Trade Operations takes over execution — many clients move straight from one into the other.
